10 Acts of Impact Volunteer Day – June 24

We are celebrating our tenth year in 2017 and to give back to the city that has provided Fusion with a decade of support, we’re partnering with United Way Halifax for 10 Acts of Impact.

10 Acts of Impact is bringing together 10 of United Way of Halifax’s funded agencies and 100 young professionals in teams of ten to make a major shift in the needs of these organizations over the course of one day.

How to register?

To help our team get an idea of numbers, registration for 10 Acts of Impact is available through Eventbrite.

What will your day look like?

You’ll be joining a group of up to 10 volunteers in the morning to work on a community project for 2-3 hours and help make a real impact with a local organization. United Way has over 49 funded agencies across the city, including Laing House, Take Action, ISANS, ADSUM & The Club Inclusion. These are some of great organizations you could be partnered with. Participants will be notified of their location at least one week in advance.

The types of projects will vary by site but projects will range from painting (interior and exterior), landscaping and yard clean up, simple renovations to accommodate a person with disability or senior, providing training workshops, sorting and organizing donated clothing, food and home supplies, preparing and serving meals and special event assistance.

After each group finishes their Act of Impact, all of the volunteers from different sites across Halifax, will regroup for a community BBQ to celebrate the completion of each project.

*Volunteers will be responsible for their own transportation. All sites will be close to a bus route.

If you have any questions or difficulty signing up, please reach out to Cory Richard at communications@fusionhalifax.ca.
