Leanne Tremblay

Leanne is an experienced communicator, avid traveler and lover of all things outdoors. Having moved more times than she can count, Leanne has always returned to Halifax and is excited for her favourite city’s future.

Kristie Forbes
Vice Chair

Kristie is an experienced marketer who loves nothing more than uncovering powerful insights, telling great stories, and eating great chocolate. Kristie was selected as one of Canada’s Top 30 under 30 by Marketing Magazine, and has recently relocated back to her hometown and favourite place in the world – Halifax.

Sara Espinal Henao
Corporate Secretary

Originally from Colombia, Sara moved to Canada at the age of 16. She completed a Bachelor of Arts and obtained her law degree from McGill University. Now an Articled Clerk at Cox & Palmer, she is thrilled to call Halifax her new home and is excited to contribute to the growth and success of this beautiful city.

Devon Reynolds
Director, Member Relations

Devon is a sales/recruiting professional who has experience in many different fields. After obtaining a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from University of Waterloo, she moved to Halifax and has enjoyed life here ever since. Devon has a passion for networking, problem solving and finding the right fit for the right people. In her spare time, she is an avid Ultimate Frisbee player and loves to explore local restaurants across Nova Scotia.

Lindsey McIntyre
Director, Marketing & Communications

Lindsey is an experienced communicator/marketer who has dabbled in many different industries – from cosmetics to radio to telecommunications. She is passionate about social media, writing and loves a good brainstorming session. When not working, she loves nothing more than eating good food and listening to good music.


Jack Dallaire
Director, Development

Jack recently completed his MBA from Dalhousie University’s Rowe School of Business and has a BBA from The University of New Brunswick. He currently works as an Associate in M&A advisory for a leading Canadian financial institution. His preview experience includes working in corporate development for a publicly traded media company. Jack is passionate about all things business and finance related and is excited to contribute to Atlantic Canada’s continued growth.

Corinne Abraham
Director, Arts & Culture

Corinne is a results-oriented leader with strong communications skills. She is an avid traveller and has recently completed her MBA. Corinne loves the diversity of the Arts and Culture scene in Halifax which has led her to volunteer with a number of local organizations. She is excited for her work with Fusion in making Halifax a better place to live.

Matthew Martel
Director, Entrepreneurship

Matthew completed his Bachelor of Management Entrepreneurship and Innovation at Dalhousie University’s Rowe School of Business, where he developed a love for entrepreneurship. Matthew achieved his Masters in Technology Entrepreneurship & Innovation at Saint Mary’s Sobey School of Business and he since been an active member of the entrepreneurial community. Originally from Cape Breton, in his spare time Matthew enjoys the great outdoors from hiking and camping to snowboarding and kayaking. Matthew is a serial entrepreneur who enjoys the start up community and is passionate about the entrepreneurial experience. He has spent his life in Nova Scotia and retains the values that are characteristic of Atlantic Canadians.

Jackie Nguyen
Director, Health & Wellness

Jackie is passionate about population health and creating supportive environments where the healthy choice is the easier choice. A proud Haligonian, born and raised, Jackie is constantly excited about what her city has on offer.

Elora Gehue
Director, Immigration & Diversity

Being an Indigenous woman, and a recent Saint Mary’s University graduate in International Development, Elora has extensive experience with international relations and diverse initiatives. Having a strong background in inclusiveness, cultural diversity and community/country development, she brings to Fusion the promotion of cultural responsiveness and professional relations – whether it’s locally or internationally. Elora is excited about her journey with Fusion, and hopes to make Halifax a better place to thrive, live and stay.

Katrina Leighton
Director, People Factor

Katrina is a fundraising professional, creative problem solver and ocean junkie. She prides herself on building meaningful, trusting relationships and loves that because she lives in Halifax she can go from a boardroom to a beach in 30 minutes.

Cory Porteous
Director, Sustainability

Cory is passionate about learning, exploring and the outdoors. Motivated by the satisfaction of solving a stubborn problem, he is excited by the opportunity to use that passion to help create a Halifax we can all enjoy for years to come.

Joe Gnemmi
Director, Urban Development

Joe grew up in rural Nova Scotia and recently graduated from Dalhousie’s Masters of Planning program, with experience in land-use planning and urban design. He enjoys stories in all formats, learning anything about anything, brainstorming radical ideas, heated discussions, good food and drink, and a good laugh. Joe believes that great cities are the key technology to thriving societies, and that’s Joe’s mission – to make Halifax the greatest city it can be.

Mahbubur Rahman
Mahbubur came to Halifax in 2013 from Bangladesh for university. While at Dalhousie, he was Vice President, Finance & Operations of Dalhousie’s Student Union. He was also  honoured with the Board of Governors Award in 2015. As an active volunteer in the Halifax community,  he was also recognized by the Province of Nova Scotia & HRM with at the 2017 Volunteer Awards. After completing his Masters of Civil Engingeering, he began to work as a Project Manager at DAL. He is happy to call Halifax his new home and enjoys exploring the city with his wife and two children.
