In the summer of 2016 Common Good Solutions (CGS) started a video series highlighting local social enterprises and social-purpose businesses called “Stories for the Common Good”, but that wasn’t big enough. CGS co-founder David Upton tasked three go-getters with capturing stories of social enterprises and social-purpose businesses nationwide, and so The Social Shift was born. The first meeting will be led by Tanisi Pooran, a facilitator, visionary scholar, and founder of SALT+SEED. She was chosen to attend Emergent Strategy Facilitator Training in Detroit/Anishinaabe territory in November 2019, this training deepened her practice of Emergent Strategy as a facilitator.
